If you are not from calcutta then you have to visit Gariahat market if you visit calcutta. Gariahat market is one of the famous and busisest market in the city of joy , starting from household products to saree , jewelleries everything is there in gariahat market .

Gariahat Road connects Ballygunge Phari with Prince Anwar Shah Road and Raja SC Mullick Road near Jadavpur Police station.
The Ballygunge AC market and the Dakshinapan shopping center are two of the main attractions that one will find on the Gariahat Road. Many handicraft and textiles emporium of the government can also be seen here.

A huge number of jewellery shops are also located here. It connects to / intersects some of the most important roads of the city namely Ballygunge Circular Road,Gurusaday Road, Hazra and Rashbehari Avenue. Southern Avenue and Prince Anwar Shah Road are also connected through here.

Gariahat since time immemorial has been known to house some of the most brilliant, elegant and exquisite Bengali saree stores in the city. This along with other authentic ethnic wear for kids and men alike, all at reasonable rates makes visiting gariahat worthwhile.
The local makeshift shops over here is where you can get everything you need for your home – stuff like crockery, cutlery, decorative items and other utilities.
But, the only thing to keep in mind while shopping from such vendors is to bargain. People who are not so good at bargaining are usually taken for a ride by these guys! So beware.
